Nelson P Jacobs

Nelson P. Jacobs, 100, of Moline, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Rosewood Care Facility, Moline. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no memorial service at this time. Memorials may be made to Arrowhead Ranch, Coal Valley. Nelson P. Jacobs was born in South Holland, Ill., on May 2, 1909, to Peter and Alice Ravensloot Jacobs. On Oct. 16, 1937, in Chicago Heights, Ill., he married Ann Eafrate, who preceded him in death Nov. 14, 2008. He and his wife, Ann, were the founders of D & J Laundry in Moline, in 1946. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Oakwood Country Club, and he was a life member of the Elks Club. He enjoyed golf, traveling and being with his family. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Chris) Jacobs, Bowling Green, Ky., and Perry (Patty) Jacobs, Moline; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife, his parents, one sister and three brothers
