Nancy J Smith

Nancy J. Smith, 84, of East Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline. Visitation will be Thursday, December 8th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be at First Christian Church, 1826 – 16th Street, Moline, on Friday, December 9th, at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church or MGT New Hope Church. Nancy J. Scott was born in Moline on October 4, 1932, daughter of Jesse and Effie (Carlson) Scott. On November 6, 1955, in Moline, she married Charles Robert “Bob” Smith, who preceded her in death December 4, 1997. She graduated with the Moline High School Class of 1951, and was a life-long member of First Christian Church, and the Friendship Class at First Christian. She also attended New Hope Church (former Moline Gospel Temple) in Moline. Survivors include sons, Thomas M. (Sherri) Smith of Trophy Club, TX, and Timothy S. (Diann) Smith of Panola, IL; grandchildren, Whitney Smith of Carver, MN, Tyler Smith of Austin, TX, and Trevor Wolf and Shaina Wolf of Panola, IL; sisters, Peggy Fosdyck of Silvis, IL, and Mary Kay Cary of East Moline, IL; and brother James (Clevelyn) Scott of Silvis, IL.
