Mrytle B Tolson

Myrtle Tolson, 94, of Moline, IL, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013, at Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Thursday, February 14th, at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery in Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, 4700 - 53rd Street, Moline. Myrtle B. King was born in Tolona, IL, on January 2, 1919, to William and Joaie (Groves) King. On January 13, 1937, in Covington, IN, she married Glen Tolson, who preceded her in death 2007. She began employment in 1945 at the Rock Island Arsenal, and then worked for Montgomery Wards. She was a Certified Nurse Practitioner for Dr. Leonora Nash, for 14 years, retiring in 1977, and then joined Aldens Catalog Company as a Manager. She was a member of New Life Church in Moline, South Park Presbyterian Church in Rock Island, and Calvary Church of the Quad Cities in Moline. She also was a member of Eastern Star, and enjoyed baking, shuffle board, and fishing. Survivors include, a son: Richard and wife Kay Tolson of Moline, granddaughter: Sandy DeVore of Davenport, IA, and step-daughters: Nancy Dennison of Florida, and Doris Williams of Roseville, CA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William, and sisters, Dorothy, Ruby, and Crystal.
