Milton C. Johnson, 96, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline. Services will be Friday, December 18th, at 11:00 a.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with visitation for two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL. Milton C. Johnson was born in Moline on December 18, 1912, to Charles and Marie (Karlson) Johnson. On May 11, 1940, in Moline, he married Alice Baker, who preceded him in death January 14, 1967. On March 7, 1970, in Moline, he married Alice Jackson, who survives. He was a member of the Moline High School Class of 1930, and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired as a Postal Clerk from the U.S. Postal Service on April 23, 1976, after 37 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline American Legion Post #246, Viking Thor Lodge #9 of Moline, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. In addition to his wife, survivors include: a daughter: Judy Sannito of Coal Valley, IL; grandchildren: Heather Sannito of Moline, and Matthew (Jessica) Sannito of Cordova, TN; a step-daughter: Kathy Miller of Weaverville, CA; step-son: Kevin Frey of Arlington, TX; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Charles (Nancy) Jackson, and a sister-in-law: Jane Johnson, all of Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Hugo and Charles Johnson.
