Mildred Marie Buckrop

Mildred Marie Buckrop, 89, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline, IL. Services will be Saturday, January 25th, at 2:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a two-hour visitation beginning at 12:00 noon until time of the service. Burial will be Monday, January 27th, in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church in East Moline, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Mildred M. Henderson was born in Monroe County, Iowa, on the family farm, on October 23, 1924, to James Floyd and Ethel Marie (Carlson) Henderson. On July 22, 1943, near Albia, Iowa, on the family farm, she married Roy L. Buckrop, who preceded her in death on November 1, 2011. Mildred was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in East Moline. She enjoyed quilting, and loved spending time with her family. Survivors include: daughters: Carol (William) DeVoss of Russellville, KY, and Nancy Roraback of Moline; son: Gary (Rebecca) Buckrop of Rock Island; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a sister.
