Michael Wlaskolich

November 11, 1923 — February 13, 2010

Mike Wlaskolich, 86, of Moline, IL, died on February 13, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center, 7th Street Campus in Moline. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island at Rock Island, IL, with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post #569 of Milan. Memorials may be made to Big Island Soil and Water Preservation Association. Michael Wlaskolich was born on November 11, 1923, in Middletown, PA, to Steve and Florence (Bilbich) Wlaskolich. He attended Mt. Pleasant High School. During WWII, he served in the Navy as a Seaman 1st Class. He was employed by International Harvester Co, Melrose Park, IL, for 27 years, retiring in 1980 as a Stationary Engineer. Survivors include: a daughter: Cynthia (Max) Shock of Rock Island, IL.; a son: Randy (Barbara) Wlaskolich of Milan, IL.; one sister: Mary Ann (Charles) Pierce of Moline, IL.; one brother: Steve (Betty) Wlaskolich of Parker, AZ.; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a special friend, Janet Range of Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Wally Wlaskolich; and four sisters: Elizabeth Cotter, Florence Dudley, Mary Miller, and Ann Pleca.
