Maudie Bennett, 90, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center's Illini Campus in Silvis, IL. Services will be Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at Moline Church of Christ, 4800 - 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Maudie L. Simmons was born in Corning, AR, on September 3, 1918, to James and Vinnie (Robinson) Simmons. She married Glen Withers, and later, in March of 1966, in Silvis, IL, she married Homer H. Bennett, who preceded her in death on April 28, 1984. She was a machine operator at the former Fresh Pak Candy Company for more than twenty years. She was a member of Moline Church of Christ, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and making clothes. Survivors include: two daughters: Glenda Withers of Moline, and Mary Withers of Herrin, IL; a son: Terry (Lori Carlson) Robinson of Moline; two sisters-in-law: Patricia Withers of Coal Valley, IL, and Diana Robinson of Ace, TX; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sons: James Withers and Timothy Robinson; two sisters: Marie McColum and Leena Allen; and four brothers: Lester, Vester, Orlie, and Wayne Simmons.
