Matthew Shawn Pohl

Matthew S. Pohl, 44, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, February 26th, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Monday, February 27th, at 10:30 a.m., at Edgewood Baptist Church, 2704 - 38th Street, Rock Island. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sarah Pohl College Fund. Matthew S. Pohl was born in Moline on May 26, 1967, to Arthur and Eva (Randall) Pohl, Jr. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and cooking, and had a passion for helping, not only people, but animals, too. In addition to his parents, survivors include: daughters, Taylor Nolan of St. Louis, MO, and Sarah Pohl of Moline; step-daughter, Brittany Escajeda of Davenport, IA; step-son, Devin Baker of Moline; brothers, Arthur Carlton (Jennifer Prinz) Pohl of East Moline, and Bradley (Heather Delgado) Pohl of Littleton, CO; special friend, Lori Gilmore of Moline; and his loyal and faithful dog, Simba.
