Matthew R Henschen

Matthew R. Henschen, 49, of Moline, IL, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Matthew was born February 26, 1968, in Davenport, IA, the son of David Louis and Sharon N. (Douglas) Henschen. He married Dixie Waddle in 1987; they were married for 27 years. He was a graduate of the Davenport West Class of 1986. He previously worked as a manager at the family business, Henschen Manufacturing Company, and currently was employed at Norfolk Iron & Metals in Durant, IA. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing pool, camping, making plasma art, cooking, and brewing his own beer. Survivors include daughters, Jessica Henschen and Lindsay Henschen, and a son, Hunter Henschen, all of Moline; his parents, David and Sharon Henschen of Blue Grass, IA; his grandmother, Dorothy Douglas of Davenport; sisters, Julie Aldrich and Ann DeSha, both of Davenport; brothers, Doug Henschen of Waco, TX, and John Henschen of Bettendorf, IA; and three grandchildren, Gavin, Avalyn, and Vincent. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Douglas, and his grandparents, Kathryn and Louis Henschen.
