Mary Orendorff, 91, of Moline, IL, died peacefully May 10, 2013, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, with Wayne and Ann by her side. Visitation will be Monday, May 13th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Tuesday, May 14th, at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Moline V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #2153. Mary Karras was born in Chicago, IL, on July 30, 1921, to Alex and Mary (Shalest) Karras. On June 15, 1947, in Moline, she married Wayne Lawrence Orendorff, who preceded her in death December 1, 1969. She was a Moline High School graduate of the Class of 1940. She worked for A & P Grocery Store, Thriftown, and Millard Cleaning Services at various times in her life. Her most cherished job was being a wife and mother. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary #2153 of the Moline V.F.W., and enjoyed reading, card playing, going to the boat, and watching Wheel-of-Fortune. Survivors include: sister: Christine Jurewicz of East Moline, IL; children: Diana (Craig) Glasson of Surprise, AZ, Virginia (Robert) Stegal of Wharton, TX; Steven (Marsha) Orendorff of Geneseo, IL, Mike Orendorff of Arlington, TX, Wayne (Ann) Orendorff of Moline, Keith (Trisha) Orendorff of Ft.Worth TX, Jay Orendorff of San Francisco, CA, and Larry (Deb) Orendorff of Bettendorf, IA; nephews: Dan and Alex Caras; niece: Francine Liras; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Ann, and sisters, Georgia Caras and Helen Karras.
