Mary M Wessel

Mary Wessel, of Moline and Silvis, IL, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at The Light House in Silvis. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 7th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Wednesday, December 8th, at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald Reagan Research for Alzheimers, or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mary M. Pyevich was born in Silvis on June 18, 1918, to Nick and Angeline (Vujnovich) Pyevich. She graduated from John Powers Modeling School in New York City, and modeled in New York and Chicago. She missed her family, and returned home to the Quad Cities. On January 28, 1949, in Moline, she married Paul H. Wessel, who preceded her in death on April 10, 2002. She became a homemaker, and together they raised two sons. Mary is survived by her two sons: Peter (Jan) Wessel, and Timothy (Jackie) Wessel; several grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Pat; and several nieces and nephews.
