Mary L Caughey

Mary L. Caughey, 79, of Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Avonlea Cottage of the Quad Cities in Milan, IL. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be no services. A visitation will be held Friday, June 30th, from 5 to 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Inurnment will take place in Patch Grove, WI. Memorials may be made to Avonlea Cottage of the Quad Cities. Mary L Worrell was born September 14, 1937 in Patch Grove, WI, daughter of Omer and Florence (Jeidy) Worrell. She married Jim Chapin in San Diego, CA in 1954. Then she was married in 1966 in Milan, to Bob Nice for six months until he passed away. In 1975, in Milan, she married Jim Caughey, and they were later divorced. She graduated from high school in Bloomington, WI, in 1955, and received her Nurses’ Training at Black Hawk College in Moline, IL. She was a Registered Nurse for eighteen years at Trinity Hospital Robert Young Center in Rock Island, IL, retiring in 2002. Mary loved to travel, cook, eat good food, gamble, read, attend her water aerobics classes, and loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her sister, Charlotte (Keith) Kline of Davenport, IA; step-daughters, Debera (Mike) Schaubroeck of New Windsor, IL, and Becky (Charlie) Earl of Aledo, IL; grandchildren, Megan (Dan) Poggenklass, Amanda (Dean) Hulsing, Carrie (Dan Smith) Blaser, Erin (Travis) Haynes, Molly Fisher, Kelly (Robbie) Beale, and Andy Earl; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Beverly Senatra, and Donna Kress, a step-son, John Anders Nice; and grandsons, Ivan Schaubroeck and Jeremy Fisher.
