Mary C Jacobson

Mary C. Jacobson, 81, of East Moline, IL, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline. A celebration of life/visitation will be held Tuesday, February 3rd, from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm, with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Hope Creek Care Center. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family burial will be held at a later date, at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Hope Creek Care Center. Mary Gremanis was born September 23, 1933, in Rock Island, to James Gremanis and Maureen (Huff) Gremanis. She first married Wayne Covault, and then later married Donald “Ernie” Jacobson. She was employed at Short Hills Country Club, and prior to that, worked at Frank’s Pizza. She enjoyed word search puzzles, and loved popcorn. Survivors include daughters Dana (Dan) Ernat formerly of Coal Valley, IL, now of Missouri, and Dawn Stombaugh of Colona, IL; a son Mike (Paula) Covault of LaGrange, KY; a sister Diana Gremanis; a brother James (Glenna) Gremanis; six grandchildren: Nick Covault, Darcy Ernat, Stacey Peterson, Mark Erickson, Dave Stombaugh, and Dana Gross; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, a grandson Scott Erickson, and a son-in-law Keith Stombaugh. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to her special friend, Marshall Douglas, and her Hope Creek family.
