Marvin Stewart

Marvin Stewart, 80, of Moline, IL, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, at Heartland Care Center in Moline. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 4th, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Services will be Thursday, October 5th, at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Per his wishes, the body will then be cremated. Memorials may be made to Hillsdale United Methodist Church, Hillsdale, IL. Marvin was born February 7, 1937, in Mountain View, AR, the son of Walter and Mary (Halpain) Stewart. On June 9, 1957, in Moline, he married Ruth Drew. He was employed for forty years as a truck driver for Wholesale Distributing Company, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Ruth, survivors include his children, Marlon (Maribeth) Stewart of Moline, Brian Stewart of Moline, and Cindy Stewart of Kenosha, WI; sisters, Shirley Wright and Clara Freeze; brothers, Joe, Boss, Russell, Jimmy, and Howard Stewart; two grandchildren, Lindsay (Jesus) Vazquez and Andy (Bekke) Parker; and two great-grandchildren, Santi and Lauren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters, Dorothy Long, Viola Minnicks, Wanda Stubbs, and Lela Laycock.
