Marvin Mcgowan

Marvin “Big Chubb” McGowan, age 50, passed away Sunday evening, January 25, 2017, at his home in Rock Island, IL. He was born August 16, 1966, in Ruleville, MS, to Willie Earl Harrington and Rosetta McGowan. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL, and all services will be held at The Pentecostal Church of God, 1234 Ripley Street, Davenport, IA, on February 18, 2017. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, and the Memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers, to Victoria McGowan Family, 534 – 12th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201, or go online to Go Fund Me. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Victoria (Burrage) McGowan; his 8 children, Donotello Crisp, Arieo Burrage, Diamond McGowan, Nicos McGowan, Isaiah McGowan, Israel McGowan, Ian McGowan, and Angel McGowan, all of Rock Island, IL; his parents, Willie Earl Harrington of Rock Island, IL, and Rosetta McGowan of Booneville, MS; and his three sisters, Martha Jean McGowan of Milwaukee, WI, Jackie Harrington of Houston, TX, and LaSonia Harrington of Killen, TX. He was preceded in death by his first son, Marvin Earl McGowan, Jr. There will be a Fund Raising Dinner in Memory of Big Chubb on Sunday, at 12:00 noon, February 12, 2017, at The Pentecostal Church of God.
