Martha M. Langill, 67, of Coal Valley, IL, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, IL. As per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 4 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. with a funeral mass in celebration of her life to be held immediately following at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Coal Valley. Private inurnment will follow at Coal Valley Township Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either the American Lung Association or the National Kidney Foundation at the local or national level. Martha M. Church was born in Des Moines, IA, on December 8, 1941, to Ralph and Sally (Dzeiba) Church. On August 8, 1959, she married Michael E. Langill, who survives. She retired in 1994 after 26 years of service working for John Deere as a cashier at their East Moline Harvester Works. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin in northern Wisconsin, taking motorcycle trips with her husband and son, spending time with her grandchildren, gourmet cooking for family and friends, traveling, sewing, arts/crafts work, and playing Mahjong. In addition to her husband, survivors include: sons: Patrick Langill of Davenport, IA and Joel Langill of Dallas, TX; and two grandchildren: Elyse Langill of Sarasota, FL, and Wesley Langill of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Joan Hawe.
