Marjorie A Lea

Marjorie Ann Lea, 80, of East Moline, IL, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021, at Genesis Medical Center - Illini Campus in Silvis, IL.

Services will be Saturday, May15, 2021, at 11:00 am, with a visitation one hour before service, beginning at 10:00 am, at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. The service can be viewed by family and friends via livestream through our website.

Memorials may be made to Autism Speaks.

Marjorie was born November 25, 1940, in Davenport, IA, to Lester and Florence (Johnson) Twing. She married Roland Joseph Lea on March 14, 1969, who preceded her in death on May 2, 2017.

She graduated from Moline Senior High School, Class of 1958. She was a stay-at-home mom. In her earlier years, she was a waitress at the Holiday Inn and Viking Inn in Moline. She continued working from 1979 to 1999 at McDonald's in East Moline. She enjoyed reading books, loved watching football and baseball, was a die-hard Green Bay Packer and St. Louis Cardinal Enthusiast, and especially loved camping with family in Manchester, IA.

Survivors include daughters Michelle Dawn Lea (Bruce Ainsworth) and Lesley Ann Lea (Niel) Buck, step-daughters, Kelly Jo Happel (Gilmore), and Lori Lynn Gilmore, eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Cheryl Twing and Sandy (Mike) Sowers, one brother, Jeff (Audrey) Twing, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Twing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Butch, her parents, a brother, Lyman Twing, her father-in-law and mother-in- law, Ken and Alice Griffiths.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Fort Armstrong Staff and the Hope Creek Staff for all the excellent care Marjorie received.
