Marion Hayden Sutherland

Marion H. Sutherland, 92, Moline, formerly of Sandwich, IL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Illini Restorative Care in Silvis, IL, with family by her side.

According to her wishes, Mrs. Sutherland has been cremated. There will be a gathering of friends and family on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 11 am until 1 pm, with a memorial service at 1 pm at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Inurnment will be in Oakridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL, at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, or a tree may be planted in her memory.

Marion H. Lett was born July 17, 1931, in Sandwich, IL, to Herbert Samuel and Esther Polly (Noack) Lett. She graduated from Sandwich High School. She married Robert Sutherland at her grandmother's home, Mrs. C. J. Patten, in Sandwich on September 17, 1950. Mr. Sutherland preceded her in death on February 16, 2005.

She was a member of the Daughters Of The American Revolution since 1971.

Survivors (and spouse) include a son, Randy Sutherland of Moline, IL; a daughter, Ruth Sutherland (Marvin Drowns) of Aledo, IL; and a grandson, Will Drowns of Aledo, IL.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Rick and Bob Sutherland, and brothers James and Thomas Lett.
