Marion Elizabeth Gustafson

Marion E. Gustafson, 91, of Davenport, IA, formerly of Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, in Davenport. Cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline on Saturday, July 22nd, with a one-hour visitation prior to the services, beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by services at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will be at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. Marion Elizabeth Siegfried was born February 19, 1926, in Moline, the daughter of Clarence and Olga (Ekstrand) Siegfried. She graduated from Moline High School in 1944, and married Richard “Dick” M. Gustafson on August 25, 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2008. Through the 1940’s-1960’s, Marion worked part-time at her parents’ business, The Businessmen’s Association of Moline, while raising their four children. Marion and Dick had a big garden, with their freezer and shelves well-stocked with home-prepared vegetables and pickles, as well as Marion’s Swedish rye bread. In earlier years, Marion played Bridge and belonged to King’s Daughters. After Dick’s retirement, they moved to Apache Junction, AZ, until returning to Moline in 2007. Survivors include her daughter, Marcy Fisher of Bloomington, IL; sons, Dave (Pat) Gustafson of Moline, Daryl (Uli) Gustafson of Germany, and Dan (Teri) Gustafson of Shoreview, MN; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a brother. Special thanks to Mickie and Marlene for their tender care of our mother.
