Marilyn S Navarro

Marilyn S. Navarro, 60, of Moline, IL, died Monday, December 21, 2009, at Trinity Medical Center-Terrace Park in Bettendorf, IA. Visitation will be at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, on Monday, December 28th, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., when a Rosary will be held. Services will be Tuesday, December 29th, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 555 - 18th Avenue, East Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Marilyn S. Gerstel was born in Moline on May 13, 1949, to Harry and Nellie (Dobbins) Gerstel. On June 3, 1967, in Moline, she married Joseph I. Navarro, Jr, who survives. She was employed for 18 years as a Customer Service Representative for Cox Cable Company. Then, she returned to college, received a degree in Legal Administration, and worked at Lane & Watermann in Davenport, IA, until her retirement in 2003. In addition to her husband, survivors include: her father: Harry Gerstel of Beaumont, CA; two sons: J. Vincent Navarro of East Moline, and Joshua Navarro of Moline; two sisters: Bonnie Johnson and Becky Tripp, both of Moreno Valley, CA; a brother: H. David Gerstel of Moline; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Gerstel, and her sister, Graca Minter.
