Mabel J. Burich, , of Moline, IL, died Sunday, February 20, 2011, at Bettendorf Health Care Center in Bettendorf, IA. Services will be Thursday, February 24th at 11:00 a.m., at First Lutheran Church, 1230 Fifth Avenue, Moline. A two-hour visitation will be held at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Moline. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Moline. Mabel J. Erickson was born in Princeton, IL, on June 1, 1921, to Carl and Emma (Peterson) Erickson. On October 12, 1940, she married John D. Burich, Sr. who preceded her in death November 4, 1977. Mabel was a graduate in the Moline High School Class of 1939. She was employed for a time at Dimock & Gould in Moline, and was secretary for the Quad-City Black Hawks basket ball team. She was manager of the Fountain Manor Apartments, and worked as secretary for her husband in their real estate and insurance business. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Moline, staying involved in many of the church organizations. Mable enjoyed playing Bridge, bowling with the Lady Elks, loved musicals, and was an avid Cubs fan. Her grandchildren were her joy, always being a constant in their lives. Survivors include: daughter Diane (Elliott) Parker of Climax Springs, MO; son: J. Daniel (Mary) Burich of Davenport, IA; grandchildren: Collin Burich, Evan Burich, Leah Foss, Wendi Schoenekase, K. Anthony Parker, Jennifer Parker-Moore, and Rebecca Parker-Weber; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother. The family would like to extend their thanks to Bettendorf Health Care Center and Iowa Hospice for their loving care and support.
