Luther Reedy

Luther Reedy, age 91, of Rock Island, IL. died on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab Center in Rock Island, IL. Services will be held Thursday, November 3rd, at 1:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, IL, with a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Community Christian Church, Moline. Luther Reedy was born in Pickaway, IL, on January 14, 1920, to Lute and Olive (Kirby) Reedy. On April 26, 1946, in Moline, IL, he married Helen A. Davis, who preceded him in death on June 29, 2011. He was employed for 35 years at Eagle Signal Corporation in Davenport, IA. He was a member of Community Christian Church and the Moline Turners, and enjoyed Bowling and Square Dancing. Survivors include: sons: Larry (Theresa) Reedy of Rock Island, IL, Michael (Donna) Reedy of Foley, AL, and Richard Reedy of Milan, IL; a sister, Fern (Warren) Fisher; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
