Lula Alice Stout

Lula Stout, 78, of East Moline, IL, died Friday, February 19, 2016, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 24th, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Services will be Thursday, February 25th, at 10:00 am, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Lula Alice Harland was born in Rock Island, IL on October 27, 1937, to Orren and Frances (Johnson) Harland. She first married Ralph Carlson who preceded her in death in 1962. On January 7, 1964, in East Moline, she married Herbert F. Stout, who preceded her in death October 12, 2008. She was employed at Lunardi’s Restaurant, the Davenport Outing Club, and Augustana College Westerlin Hall, during her working years. She very much enjoyed cooking, and loved playing Bingo. Survivors include sons, Richard R. Carlson of Milan, IL, John A. Carlson of Winfield, AL, David O.(Kathleen) Carlson of Rock Island, IL, Leonard C. Stout of Moline, and Robert L. Stout of East Moline; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a son Rex A. Stout, and siblings, Martha Flo, Faye, Lawrence, Leonard, and Dennis Harland. There will be a reception for Lula’s family and friends, to celebrate her life, on Thursday, February 25th, at the VFW Post 8890 at 1810 First Street in East Moline, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
