Louis Hatchett, age 82, of Moline, IL. died on Dec. 24,2006 at Heartland Health Care in Moline. Louis H. Hatchett was born May 30, 1924, to Louis and Ruby (Johnson) Hatchett in Vicksburg, MS. He married Betty Broadston on May 3, 1943, in Ft. Pierce, FL. Louis graduated with the Moline High School Class of 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during WWII, and then served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a Supervisor for Alcoa Aluminum at Bettendorf, IA for 33 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of First Christian Church in Moline, and was a member and District Deputy of the Elks Grand Lodge. He was a member of the Moline Lodge 1014 AF & AM, and a past member of the Zal Grotto. He and his wife traveled all over the United States. Masonic services by Moline Lodge 1014 AF & AM will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27th, at 11 AM, at the Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Visitation will be on Wednesday Dec. 27th from 10AM until 11AM, the time of the service, at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association or the First Christian Church in Moline, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Survivors include his wife; one daughter: Susan (David) Carmack of Moline, IL, one son: James Hatchett of Rock Island, IL.; one sister: Charlotte Thompson of Denver, CO.; four granddaughters: Jamie Bauschka of Moline, IL., Dr Amy Hatchett of the state of Hawaii, Keri Roby of Moline, IL., and Kristine Weydert of Chicago IL.; and three great-grandchildren: Emma and Connor Weydert, and Macy Rea. He was preceded by his parents.
