Lorraine Quiett, 87, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24th, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Wednesday, March 25th, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Silvis, IL. Lorraine M. Burke was born in Grand Rapids, MI, on November 2, 1921, to William T. and Barbara (Shevre) Burke. She married Clifton C. VanWinkle in 1946, and later, in 1967, married Willie R. Quiett, who preceded her in death October 22, 2005. She was a Registered Nurse, retiring from the State of Illinois in 1983. Lorraine also taught, and loved ceramics and crafts. Her beloved survivors include: her sons: Steven C. VanWinkle of East Moline, and Christopher B. VanWinkle of Port Byron, IL; two granddaughters: Jennie (Adam) Mitchell and Nikki VanWinkle; two grandsons: Clifton L. and Christoper M. VanWinkle; five great grandchildren; her sister: Shirley Visser of Michigan; and two brothers: Michael Burke of Nevada, and Donald Van Koevering of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and a daughter: Barbara Dau.
