Loretta Blaser Erikson

Loretta Blaser Erikson, age 89, of Bettendorf, IA, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at The Fountains Senior Living in Bettendorf, IA. Visitation will be Sunday, March 24th, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Services will be at the funeral home on Monday, March 25th at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to King's Daughters Thrift Shop, 1317 - 5th Avenue, Moline, IL. Loretta M. Huys was born in Atkinson, IL, on October 12, 1923, to Edward and Irene (Mineart) Huys. She graduated from Atkinson High School, and attended Marycrest College in Davenport, IA. After the war, she married Stewart W. Blaser in Moline. She was a homemaker while raising her three sons, and later worked as a decorator at Von Maur Department Store in Moline. After Stewart's death, she married Ralph Erikson in 2002, in East Moline. She was a member of King's Daughters, The Twentieth Century Club, and other civic organizations. In addition to her husband, Ralph, survivors include: sons: Donald (Susan) of Jacksonville, FL, Michael (Linda Gay) of Bettendorf, and Steven (Cheryl) of Moline; grandchildren: Dawn of Glasgow, Scotland, Neil of Ithaca, NY, Sarah Golden of Boulder, CO, Thomas Blaser of Chicago, IL, Noah Blaser of Istanbul, Turkey, and Benjamin Blaser of Moline. Ralph Erikson's children are Laura Erikson of Rock Island, and Larry Erikson of Peoria, IL. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the staff at The Fountain's Living Center in Bettendorf, for their caring attention to Loretta in her time of need.
