Lorenzo V Sandoval

Lorenzo Sandoval, 80, of Rock Island, IL, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at St. Anthony's Nursing & Rehab in Rock Island. Services will be Saturday, February 19th at 3:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. A two-hour visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Nieves Cemetery, Zacatecas, Mexico. Memorials may be made to the family. Lorenzo V. Sandoval was born in Durango, Mexico, on September 5, 1930, to Miguel and Paula (Vega) Sandoval. On July 26, 1974, in Moline, he married Marcia Boettcher, who survives. He retired in 2002, after 32 years as a welder at Midland Iron & Steel Company in Moline. He love gardening and cooking, and enjoyed driving around sight-seeing. In addition to his wife, Marcia, survivors include: five daughters: Martha Sandoval of Rock Island, and Clara Sandoval, Rosa Sandoval, Elia Sandoval, and Josefina Sandoval, all of Mexico; two sons: Moises Sandoval of Houston, TX, and Nicholas Sandoval of Mexico; and a sister: Maria Ovalle of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son: Rafael Sandoval, and two sisters.
