Lorene M Hickle

Lorene M. Hickle, 83, of Moline, IL, died Monday, December 15, 2014, at Riverwood Nursing Home in East Moline, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, December 18th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Friday, December 19th, at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Lorene M. Varnold was born in MaQuon, IL, on March 18, 1931, to Ralph and Winona Varnold. She married Leonard Armstrong in Galesburg, IL, and then, in 1973, she married Norman Hickle. She attended Maquon High School, and worked for many years as a housekeeper in a Moline nursing home. She was a former member of Open Bible Church in East Moline, IL, a member of Fellowship Temple Revival Center in Silvis, IL, and loved attending church. Lorene also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Survivors include: daughter Vicki (Lynn) Morris of Rock Island, IL; sons Gary (Sandra) Armstrong of Moline, and Donald (Angie) Armstrong of Coal Valley, IL; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her husbands, her parents, brothers Donald, Kurt, Bill, and Kenny Varnold, sisters Louise Mahnesmith and Sandy Herche; sons Robert and David Armstrong, and a granddaughter Rebakkuh Morris.
