He also worked with his brother-in-law for several years at R&M Can Do, where he performed carpentry and painting jobs. Loren also spent many years working as a Tech Inspector and Official at Cordova Dragway. During all of his jobs, Loren was very concerned about safety and was often appointed a safety man at work. Loren helped form one of the first hot rod clubs in the Quad Cities, called the Klockers, and he was also a member of the Moons Car Club what was formed later. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX, where was a squad leader. He was a member of the Rock Island County Historical Society, as well as a member of AMVETS in Cedar Falls, IA. Loren’s favorite enjoyments were cars, mechanics, fishing, antiquing, and visiting with his many friends and family members.
