Lois L. Gale, 94, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline.

Services will be Monday, June 1st, at 11:00 a.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Interment will be at Moline Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Mid-Illinois Talking Book Center, 600 High Point Lane, Suite 2, East Peoria, IL 61611 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Lois L. Demaranville was born in Atkinson, Henry, IL, on December 24, 1914, to Frank and Lila (Clark) DeMaranville. On June 3, 1945, in Moline, she married Merwin A. Gale, who preceded her in death May 29, 2005.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Moline for over 60 years. She was also a member of the Christian Women's Group. She learned to fly, and received her pilot's license in 1941. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and loved playing Bingo at Heartland, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors (and spouses) include: daughters: Patricia Gale of Davenport, IA, Mikki (James) Judge of Buffalo, IA, and Janet (Larry) Meeks of Rock Island, IL; sons: Edward (Kathy) Gale of Milan, IL, and Frank (Mary) Gale of Colona, IL; a sister-in-law: Elizabeth "Betty" Thompson of Clinton, IA; grandchildren: Rick (Lisa) Gale of Donohue, IA, Carol Brown of Galesburg, IL, Deb Fuller of Davenport, John (Tina) Gale of Apollo Beach, FL, Michael (Monica) Gale of Riverside, CA, Jenny McVey of Milan, Wendy (Jon) Grunwald of Geneseo, IL, Andy (Brandi) Gale of Rock Island, Aaron Gale of Van Horne, IA, Daniel Gale of Illinois, Jayson Gale of Shawnee Mission, KS, Sarah (Byron) Powell of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Rob (Carey) Judge of Lakewood, CO; nineteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren with number five on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
