Lois Elaine Hammill

Lois Elaine Hammill, age 90, formerly of Moline, IL. died on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at The Fountains Assisted Living in Bettendorf, IA. Lois Elaine Olmstead was born on April 22, 1916, to William and Hattie (Lovering) Olmstead in Shabonna, IL. She married Leo Hammill in December of 1958 in Moline; he preceded her in death March 18, 1986. Lois was employed for several years at Modern Woodman in Rock Island, IL She especially enjoyed doing volunteer work at Trinity Hospital for many years. Services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at 10:30 AM at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Visitation will be held on February 3rd, at the funeral home, from 9:00 AM until time of the service. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Park in Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to Quad Cities Christian School. Survivors include a son: Allen "Don" (Sandra) Goben of Hollister, MO; one sister: Doris Platt of Big Rapids, MI; a sister-in-law, Ruth Olmstead; a granddaughter: Kim (Denny) Shannon of Bettendorf, IA.; three grandsons: Dave (Dianne) Goben of Glenarm, IL., Mark (Terry) Goben of Sioux Falls, SD, and Doug Goben of Great Falls, MT.; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Bob Hammill. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her parents, a sister, Esther Olmstead, and three brothers: Carl, Earl, and Ralph Olmstead.
