Lisa Kurtz-Perry, age 62, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, at her home.
Born on May 8, 1962, to Charles “Bud” and Meredith Kurtz, Lisa grew up in Moline, IL, where she graduated from Moline High School in 1980. On July 25, 1987, she married Russell C. Perry, in Moline. Their deep and abiding love lasted until his passing on February 14, 2019.
Lisa was a woman of many passions and boundless kindness. An avid reader, she found joy and inspiration in the rich worlds of literature, especially in The Lord of the Rings. She was a creative spirit, enjoying the imaginative adventures of Dungeons and Dragons, as well as the peace of music in all its forms. Her love for nature and exploration was evident in her fondness for camping, too.
Above all, Lisa’s heart was devoted to her family—both human and furry. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Sarah Perry of Moline, and her brother, Scott Kurtz of Eldridge, IA. Her home was filled with love and warmth, shared with her treasured pets: Marshmallow, Nya, and her beloved cats, who brought her endless joy and companionship.
Lisa’s memory will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home, preceded by a visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, East Moline, IL.
In place of flowers, memorials may be made to Birds and Beaks in Battle Creek, MI, or the Quad City Animal Welfare Center—causes close to Lisa’s heart, reflecting her deep compassion for animals.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on Lisa’s Memory Page at wendtfuneralhome.com.
Lisa’s legacy of love, imagination, and gentle care for all creatures will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May her spirit find peace in the company of her husband, Russell, and the beloved pets who went before her.
