Lillian E Laughlin

Lillian Laughlin, 92, of LaGrange, TX, formerly of East Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2012, in LaGrange. Services will be Wednesday, August 22nd, at 11:00 a.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a one-hour visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Lillian Esther Dekker was born in Chicago, IL, on October 9, 1919, to Simon and Agnes (Bult) Dekker. On November 6, 1948, in Chicago, she married Robert Laughlin, who preceded her in death April 13, 1985. Lillian was a homemaker while raising her children, and enjoyed selling Avon products. She was later employed in the Customer Service Department for Sears, Roebuck Company in Moline. She was an active member of First Congregational Church in Moline, was in Congregators, and sang in the choir. She belonged to KingsDaughters, and volunteered in the Thrift Shop. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and she and her husband loved bowling, and especially loved the game of Bridge. Survivors include: her children, Cheryl (Kennard) Karr of LaGrange, TX; Robert Kirby (Kathleen) Laughlin of Woodland, CO and Joanne (Tony) Cavallari of Willits, CA; grandchildren, Greg (Donetta) Cosner of Moline, IL, Daniel (Thera) Cosner of Davenport, IA, Leah (Jesse) Carter of Willits, CA, Emilie Cavallari of Santa Rosa, CA, Kate (Chris) Adams of Colorado Springs, CO, Callie Ahrens of Woodland Park, Co, and Alicia (Mike) Blank of Sherrard, IL; ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dean Laughlin, a brother Raymond Dekker, and a sister, Marjorie Dekker.
