Leroy Letterly, 86, of Moline, IL, formerly of Coal City, IL, died Monday, May 30, 2011, surrounded by his loved ones, at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf, IA. Services will be held Thursday, June 2nd, at 1:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice. Leroy Calvin Letterly was born on October 23, 1924, in Latham, IL, to Floyd and Flossie (Howe) Letterly. He married his first love, Norma Deibert, on June 26, 1943, in Detroit, MI. Leroy worked for the Texaco Pipeline in his early years, before establishing Letterly Builders, which he owned and operated for over thirty years, out of Coal City, IL. Survivors include: sons Doug (Lynne) Letterly of Coal City, IL, Dale (Dana) Letterly of Moline, and Dennis (Cindy) Letterly of Davenport, IA, and daughter Linda (Richard) Westerlund of Moline; brothers, Gerald Letterly of Sun City, AZ and Harold Letterly of San Bernadino, CA; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and his faithful dog, Taffy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma in 2004; his sisters Helen and Maxine, and his brothers Everett and Hubert.
