Lawrence P. Markin

Lawrence "Larry" Markin, age 67, of Moline, IL. died on Monday, August 20, 2007, at his home. Lawrence P. Markin was born on October 28, 1939, to Amil and Gladys (Sturgeon) Markin in Keokuk, IA. He married Marsha A. Russell on August 20, 1960, in Rock Island, IL. He served in the U.S. Navy for three years. Larry was employed by John Deere Co. for 13 years, and, for 45 years, was the owner of Larry's Gutter Service in Moline, IL. He was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship, and enjoyed fishing and golfing. Visitation will be Thursday, August 23rd, from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be held Friday, August 24th, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in Silvis, IL. Memorial may be made to The Diabetes Association. Survivors include: his daughter, Kathy (Bryon) Wilfong; three sons: Dale (Chris) Markin, Jason Markin, and Tim (Donnis) Markin; one sister, Pat (Jim) Marine; one brother, Michael Markin; two sisters-in-law: Dixie Markin and June Markin; five grandsons: Cameron and Spencer Markin, Andres and Dallas Ochoa, and Shawn Ramsey; and his best friend, Marsha Markin. He was preceded in death his parents, two brothers, one sister, and a son, Larry Leon Markin.
