LaVerne E. Marsh, 93, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Friendship Manor in Rock Island, IL. Services will be Wednesday, January 25th, at 11:00 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 1611 - 41st Street, Moline, IL, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Moline, or to the Kings Daughters Isabel C Davis Circle. LaVerne E. Bloom was born in Moline on July 6, 1918, to Axel and Estelle (Johnson) Bloom. On May 23, 1943, in Moline, she married Bennett F. Marsh, who preceded her in death in November of 1998. She graduated from Moline High School, and was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal, and then in the Purchasing Department of Modern Woodman in Rock Island, IL. She was a Charter Member of Faith Lutheran Church, and a Life Member for 45 years in Kings Daughters Isabel C Davis Circle. She served as their secretary for the last 20 years. She enjoyed quilting for the church, and volunteered at the Kings Daughters Thrift Shop in Moline. She was an avid Cubs fan, and watched all their games. Survivors include: son James Marsh of East Moline; daughters Judy Ramsay and Eden Skye (Ian Walsh), all of Moline; a sister, Marcella Rosendahl of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren: Tori Marsh (Bryon Talbot), Gina Marsh, Brian (Liz) Ramsay, and Nathan (Renee) Swanson; and great-grandchildren: Evan, Cole, and Ella Ramsay, and Riley and Kaitlynn Talbot. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Dianne. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Barb Marlin for all your prayers and visits, and to the caring staff at Friendship Manor.
