Kent W Johnson

Kent W. Johnson, 58, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, October 1, 2016, at his home. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 6th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, or to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan, IL. Kent was born in Moline on September 1, 1958, to Edgar and Jeanette (Cramer) Johnson. He was a graduate of Moline High School, earned an Associate Degree from Black Hawk College, and held other various manufacturing and welding certifications. He was employed at General Dynamics in Lima, OH, as an M1A1 Tank Division Welder, and then as a Manufacturing Supervisor for Deere & Company in Moline. He was a member of the Milan Gun Club, and loved Drag Racing. Survivors include, his sister, Marcia (Merle) Gerber, and his brother-in-law, William E. Geyer, all of Moline; nephews, Robert Gerber, Daniel (Kathryn) Gerber, Bradley Gerber, Thomas Geyer, and James (Britney) Geyer; nieces, Deborah (Shae) Drobushevich, Michelle Geyer and fiancé Andrew Cassini; three great-nephews; four great-nieces; an uncle, Wesley (Mary Kay) Johnson of Moline; good friends, Curtis Hoff and family; and his best dogs, Bella Rose & Lucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Margo L. Geyer.
