Kenneth D Griffiths

Kenneth D. Griffiths, 82, of Milan, IL. passed away Friday, January 20, 2012, at Universty of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, with his wonderful wife of 43 years, Mrs. Alice V. (Skaggs, Lea) Griffiths, by his side. Cremation rites have been honored. A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, Janary 26th, at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation beginning at 12:00 noon, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL, in cooperation with the First Christian Church of Moline. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity. Kenneth D. Griffiths was born on October 9, 1929, in Evanston, WY, to William A. and Effie F. Griffiths. He graduated from South High School, and the University of Utah, in Salt Lake City, UT, and the George Washington University and the National Defense College in Washington, D.C. He was an honorably discharged Veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Federal Civil Service after working in contracting specialties, most of which was at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Surviving loved ones, in addition to his wife, include: daughters: Gloria (Bahman) Behboudi, and Dicksie G. Brashears; son: Richard (Michelene) Griffiths; stepdaughter: Sandra (Edwin) Cox; stepson: Roland (Marjorie) Lea; sister-in-law: Aroon Skaggs; nieces: Ann (Eugene) Manalo, Mahni (Ian Smith) Skaggs, and Lt.Col. Pairin (Matt McClaffertty) Skaggs; and nephew: Jerry Griffiths. Surviving grandchildren include: Jason (Tina) Behboudi, Alison (Aryan) Wallwork, Shane (Laura) Brashears, Jeremy (Ann) Brashears, Crystal (Thomas) Payne, Kevin (Terri Dee) Cox, Patricia Murga, Lesley (Christopher) Buck, Kelly (Edward) Happel, Lori L. Gilmore, and Michelle (Sean) Sanders, as well as twenty-four great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. God has blessed us with them, one and all, and may God continue to bless them, one and all. Loved ones who preceded his in death, in addition to his parents, include: daughter, Elizabeth S. Griffiths; sister, Aleda Griffiths; brother, Glen A. Griffiths; ex-wife, Patricia H. Griffiths; nephew, Craig Griffiths; and brother-in-law, Robert Skaggs and Warren Skaggs.
