Ken Peal, 64, of Davenport, IA, passed away peacefully at his home on June 26, 2023, after recently being diagnosed with a rare lung disease, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. A private family service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023. Information for a Celebration of Life will be given at a later date.
Born on June 11, 1959, in Moline, IL, Ken was the son of Donna Bailey and the late Gene Peal. He graduated from Geneseo's JD Darnall High School in 1978. Ken went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southern Illinois University, setting a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
Ken served as a dedicated Sales Manager for Liebovich Steel and Aluminum Company, where he excelled and made a lasting impact within the steel industry.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ken lived a life filled with joy and adventure. He had many hobbies and interests, including hunting, scuba diving, golfing, fishing, and traveling. Ken was a member of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), which allowed him to pursue his love for scuba diving to the fullest.
Family meant the world to Ken. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children, grandchildren, and close friends. Ken's children, Morgan Ketner and Thomas (Megan) Peal held a special place in his heart, and his grandchildren, Griffin Ketner, Jack, and Max Peal, brought him immeasurable happiness and were the light of his life.
In addition to his immediate family, Ken is survived by his mother, Donna Bailey, a sister, Linda Penick, and his brother, Michael Peal.
Ken's sense of humor and genuine nature touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
His departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but forever treasured.
