Katherine D. Rannow

Katherine "Katy" Rannow, 85, of Moline, IL, passed away March 14, 2011, at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, March 20th, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Monday, March 21st, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Moline Missionary Church, 3910 - 13th Street, Moline, IL 61265.. Katherine Dorothy Buller was born in Moline on January 12, 1926, to Charles and Dorothy (Ballard) Buller. On October 11, 1944, in Paxton, IL, she married Harvey L. Rannow. Katy attended Maple Grove Elementary and John Deere Junior High School, and was a graduate of Moline High School. She was the cook at the Maid-Rite Restaurants in Moline for 33 years, retiring in January, 1988. Katy was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing cards with her family. She also enjoyed preparing home-cooked meals for her siblings, and looked forward to sharing special occasions with her daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter in Indiana. Survivors include: a daughter: Jean (Clyde) Alexander of Fortville, IN; two sisters: Charlotte Buller Maurhoff (Bill) of Rock Island, and Janet Buller Gleason of Murrieta, CA; two brothers: Charles Buller of Moline, and Dale Buller of Costa Mesa, CA; two grandchildren: Julie Jackson and Davy Alexander; and one great-granddaughter: Hailie Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
