Karen Pulford

July 29, 1942 — March 14, 2018

Karen Pulford, 75, of Chandler, AZ, formerly of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018, due to heart complications, at Chandler Regional Hospital. Memorial services for Karen, will be held at United Methodist Church in What Cheer, IA on Sunday, May 20, 2018, following the regular Sunday church service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the American Heart Association. Karen was born in Rock Island, IL, on July 29, 1942, to Owen and Olive Marie (Beasley) McDermott.  Karen resided in Moline and relocated to Chandler, AZ, with Jack Pulford in the year 2000.  She was a member of Moline American Legion Auxiliary Post 246, Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline, Risen Savior Lutheran Church of Chandler, AZ, and the Bible Study Fellowship at Grace Community Church in Chandler.  She was a manager of Golden Eagle, Stardust Lounge, and Belgrade, and co-owner of Greenbriar Pub, all in Moline, and retired from Gila River Casino of Chandler.  Karen loved to travel, help others, spend time with her family, attend Bible study, and care for her puppy, Leo.  She was very generous to all who knew her.   Karen is survived by Jack Pulford of 30 years, sisters, Charlotte Merman, Tane Temple, and Betty Schlomer, and brother, Monte McDermott, sisters-in-law, Jacquelyn McDermott and Maxine Neels, two step-children, six step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Brent Anthony Owen, a brother, Gary McDermott, a sister, Louinda Benson, and a brother-in-law, Wes Temple.
