Judith Rynders

Judith "Judy" Rynders, 74, of Rock Island, IL, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at her home. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Wendt Funeral Home in Moline is assisting with the arrangements. Judy has requested, that in order to help breast cancer survivors, memorials be made to the Kramer Society Scholarship Fund, c/o Trinity Health Foundation, 2121 First Street A, Moline, IL 61265. Judith Schmitt was born in Rock Island on May 28, 1939, to Frank and Evelyn (Jarvis) Schmitt. She was married to David Rynders, who preceded her in death in October of 2005. She was a graduate of Rock Island High School in the Class of 1957. Judy was office manager for Heilman Beachcomber Restaurant in Clearwater Beach, FL, for many years, retiring in 2004. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and cooking, and was an excellent free-hand painter on crafts. Survivors include, son: Marc (Mary) Sherman of New Port Richey, FL; a daughter: Cheryl Harrison of Clearwater, FL; a sister: Sue (Scott Aswege) Gramling of East Moline, IL; a brother: Gary (Cheryl) Schmitt of Dahlonega, GA; Grandchildren: Holly (Brandon) Baker, Hope Dipalo, Hanna Harrison, Heather Harrison, Micha Sherman, Michelle Sherman, and Michael Sherman; a special niece: Tina Stoddard; and a special nephew: Tony (Ann) Gramling. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Thanks to Dr. Stewart Garneau and his caring staff, for their love and support.
