Judith Rae Miller, 68, of Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at her home with her family at her side. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 18th, at the Friends Circle Club, 701 – 18th Avenue, Moline, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Kids or Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center. Judy Ackley was born in Columbus, OH, on December 9, 1949, daughter of John and Marion (Buss) Ackley. She grew up in Moline and Heidelberg, Germany. Judy married Paul Iwinski. They lived in Homewood, IL and had a son, Greg. Judy moved back to Moline where she owned and operated Judy Rae’s Luggage and Gift Shop. In Moline she met and married her best friend, Craig Miller. They owned several successful businesses including Miller’s Classic Carpet Care and Miller’s Trucking and Hauling. They lived along the Rock River and spent many evenings on their deck feasting on barbeques while watching the birds and the beautiful sunsets. In addition to being a die-hard Bears fan, Judy loved to have parties with all their friends. She was a gourmet cook and enjoyed preparing wonderful dinners for the holidays. She enjoyed decorating their home for holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween, and made the entire home glow with the spirit of the season. Recently, Judy and Craig sold their businesses and retired. They are in the process of having a new home built in Sycamore, IL to be near their children and grandchildren whom Judy loved dearly. In addition to her husband, Craig, survivors include her children, Greg Iwinski of Moline; Amy Miller, Todd (Karen) Miller, and Kelly (Kurt) Mathey, all of Sycamore, IL; her grandchildren, Zach and Mike Mathey, Darian Iwinski, and Jack, Connor, and Peyton Wright; her mother, Marion Ackley; her sister Jean (Irwin) Witzel, and her brothers, John (Allyson) Ackley and Randy Ackley; a niece, three nephews, and her constant companion, a golden doodle “Harley”. She was preceded in death by her father, John Ackley, her first husband, Paul Iwinski, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harvey and Marg Miller, and this past July, her beloved sister-in-law, Teresa.
