Judith Ann Pulliam

November 3, 1941 — March 15, 2017

Mrs. Judith Ann Pulliam, 75, died peacefully on the evening of Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Aledo Health & Rehab Center in Aledo, IL, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. There will be a graveside service, open to close family and friends, at Quincy Memorial Park Cemetery, Quincy, IL, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember Judy by making a donation in her name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or the Quincy Humane Society. Judy was born in Quincy on November 3, 1941, the daughter of Marjorie and Marvin Tourney. On August 19, 1961, in Quincy, she married Merlin Pulliam, and together they raised their two children in Quincy. She enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens during the summer, and was also passionate about caring for animals, particularly her cats, that she treated like additional members of the family. She was fortunate enough to be able to travel with her husband to Hawaii, the destination of her dreams. She always described it as pure paradise. Judy’s devotion to being a mother was clear in her choice to stay at home and care for her children. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She unfortunately was unable to get to know her precious great-grandchildren before the onset of her disease, but she would have loved them to pieces. As a result of her generous spirit and good-natured personality, she was loved by many. Judy will be remembered for her contagious laughter and fun-loving charm. In addition to her husband, Merlin, Judy is survived by her daughter, Wendy, of Wapello, IA; her son, Brian, of Moline, IL; her brothers, Marvin Jr., David, and Johnny, and her sister, Rebecca, all of Quincy, IL; her grandchildren, Allison (Quinn) of Bettendorf, IA, and Chad, of Davenport, IA; and her great-grandchildren, Luna, Emery, and Ezra. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to send a special thank you to Deb Hardin, certainly Judy’s guardian angel, who cared for her and surrounded her with love and friendship during her stay at Aledo Health & Rehab Center.
