Joseph Louis Agoes

Joseph L. Agoes, 84, of Rock Island, IL, formerly of Moline, IL, died October 17, 2007, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island. Joseph Louis Agoes was born on August 8, 1923, to Joseph and Rosa (Varga) Agoes in Roebling, NJ. He was a 30-year member of the U.S. Air Force, active during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1956, and attained the rank of Major. He then retired after a long career in Sales and Management with U.S. Steel Corporation. Interment will take place at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Survivors include, one daughter: Robin Agoes of San Diego, CA; two sons: Christopher Agoes of Chicago, IL., and Steve Agoes of Teton Village, WY.; a niece: Marcia Knapp of Carmel, IN.; and a nephew: Ronald Agoes of Columbus, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents.
