John William Dickerson

John W. Dickerson, 84, of East Moline, IL, died Friday, January 6, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus in Silvis, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 11th, at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. John William Dickerson was born in Nelsonville, KY, on August 22, 1932, to Kelly and Tora (Price) Dickerson. On February 3, 1979, in Orion, IL, he married Carol Ann Sizek, who preceded him in death November 26, 2016. He was employed as a spray painter for John Deere Harvester Company in East Moline, retiring after thirty-six years. He was a member of the Wildwood Baptist Church, and loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Survivors include, children, Kevin (Jan) Dickerson of Loves Park, IL, Gordon (Julie) Dickerson of Silvis, IL, Craig Dickerson of East Moline, IL, Daniel (Linda) Stark of Shelby Township, MI, Randel (Rose) Stark of Hesperia, CA, and Beth (Randy) Carroll of East Moline, IL; sisters, Geneva Parrish of Louisville, KY, and Shirley Bales of Hodsenville, KY; brothers, Richard Dickerson of Hampton, IL, Robert Dickerson of Vine Grove, KY, and Buttler Dickerson of Moline, IL; seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Dickerson.
