John W. "Jack" Tunberg, 80, of West Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Moline, IL, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013. Services will be Friday, January 17th, at 10:30 a.m., with a 1-hour visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Moline. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Jack was born in Moline, IL, on May 7, 1933, to Clarence and Elvera (Hallquist) Tunberg. He was a member of the graduating Class of 1952 at Moline High School. He has been a resident of West Palm Beach, FL, since 1954, and was employed by Kings Department Store in West Palm Beach, for twenty years, holding the title of assistant manager. He was later employed by Gucci America in Palm Beach, for sixteen years. He loved Christmas and its decorations, and enjoyed collecting firemen and John Deere memorabilia. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and White Sox fan. He also loved animals, especially his cat "Boots". He is survived by a sister, Marcia Tunberg Rausch, and nephews, Michael Rausch and Patrick Rausch, all of West Palm Beach, FL, and nephews, Jeff Tunberg and Jon Tunberg, both of Moline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Tunberg and Keith Tunberg.
