John R. "Jack" Bealer, 69, of Moline, IL, entered into rest Monday, April 27, 2009, at Oak Glen Nursing Home in Coal Valley, IL. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be Saturday, May 2nd, at 3:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. Memorials may be made to the family. Jack Bealer was born in Rock Island, IL, on May 27, 1939, to Leonard "Red" and Zana (Cook) Bealer. He was raised in Port Byron, IL, until age 13, at which time he moved to Silvis, IL. He had lived in Overland Park, KS, for 15 years, and in various other cities across the country, where he worked as a manager in a variety of businesses, including the restaurant and hotel industries. Jack loved playing Bingo, going to the casinos, going on outings with his niece, Linda Meier, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his brothers: Ken Bealer (wife Anne) of Oak Island, NC, Bill Bealer of Colona, IL, and Richard "Dick" Bealer of Running Springs, CA; his sisters: his twin Jackie Gatton (husband Howard) of Joplin, MO, Sharon Hentzen (husband Tom) of Olathe, KS, and Sally Strom (husband Randy) of Overland Park, KS; his sister-in-law: Jean Bealer of Port Isabel, TX; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Pat and Tom Bealer, a sister: Dolores Bealer; a sister-in-law: Evelyn (Johnson) Bealer; and a niece: Cindy Bealer.
