John Frank Leskovec

John F. Leskovec, Jr, 94, of Tombstone, AZ, and formerly of Elmira, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. Services will be held on June 6th at the Wendt Funeral home in Moline, IL.  Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tombstone Senior Center, P.O. Box 339, Tombstone, AZ 85638. John was born August 21, 1925, in Little Falls, New York, son of the late John F. Leskovec, Sr., and Catherine (Mihevc) Leskovec.  On September 30, 1950, in Moline, he married Elsie Lorita Flick, who preceded him in death August 11, 2000. John was a graduate of Little Falls High School and Excelsior Business College in Utica, NY. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII with the rank of Private First Class and was then employed as a court reporter for the Supreme Court of the State of New York.  He possessed a kind, gentle, patient nature, and loved to take his family on trips.  He invented an autograph machine for court reporting.  He was a member of American Legion Post 24 in Tombstone, AZ, enjoyed playing the harmonica and Hawaiian guitar. Survivors include daughters, Jean Davis (Brian) of Tombstone, AZ and Katherine Splett (Vincent) of Apple Valley, MN; sons, Bill Leskovec (Elizabeth) of Winchester, VA, and John F. Leskovec III (Janet) of Cary, NC; thirteen grandchildren:  Benjamin, Derek, Erik, Hannah, Jessica, Jonathan, Mary, Mark, Matthew, Nicholas, Russell, Ryan, and Scott; two great-grandchildren:  Violet and Johanna; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Mrzlikar and Pauline Reich.
