Joan C Streicher

Joan Streicher, 66, of Rock Island, IL, was called home by her Lord on April 28, 2009, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center in Rock Island. Visitation will be Friday, May 1st, from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL, with services at 2:30 p.m., in the mausoleum at the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association. Joan Carol Schwartz was born in Moline on January 29, 1943, to Odess and Hazel (Gustafson) Schwartz. She had been employed as a computer operator for the Police Department of Fort Worth, TX, and was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints Temple in Moline. Joan was an excellent and avid swimmer. She loved cats and dogs, and was successful in rescuing several homeless cats. She especially loved her cat, Muffin. She is survived by: her mother, Hazel Schwartz of Rock Island; a sister, Janice Garver of Edison, NJ; and several nieces and nephews, including Greg and Gina Sylvain. She was preceded in death by her father.
